Our Cancellation Policy

Individual Reservations: For a full refund on reservations of six accommodations or less, you must cancel one week in advance of your reservation date. Please note, we cannot take responsibility for inclement weather. We cannot make exceptions for cancellations do to cold, rain or fog. We recommend checking the weather before your trip and packing appropriately.

Group Reservations: For a full refund on group bookings of 6 or more accommodations, you must cancel 30 days in advance of your reservation date. * Please note, we cannot take responsibility for inclement weather. We cannot make exceptions for cancellations do to cold, rain or fog. We recommend checking the weather before your trip and packing appropriately.

Group Booking Deposit Policy: A group booking is designated as 5 or more tents in one reservation. For all group bookings, a 50% deposit is collected at time of booking with the balance due 45 days prior to the reservation date (30 days for multiple group sites). Final payments are non-refundable.

Refunds: There will be no adjustments, guarantees, refunds or rebates for problems or failures beyond our control such as weather (fog, rain, hail, etc), fire, road conditions, power outages, or any other unavoidable occurrences.

Please note: Mendocino Grove reserves the right to cancel any and all reservations if it is found that projected weather could pose a threat to the safety of our guests. We will make every effort to give ample warning.

Storm/Road Closure Policy: No Refunds will be given if the party is unable to arrive at the property due to road closures. This could include, but is not limited to, storms, rock slides, and fires. If all accessible roads to the property are reported closed by the appropriate governmental authorities, a rain check will be issued to be used within 365 days of the scheduled arrival date.


Check-In & -Out

Check-In: Check-in is 4 pm. Guest are asked to check-in at our outdoor registration area as you enter the property.

Check-Out: We ask that campers are out of their tents by 11am on the day of departure. Please make arrangements prior to 9 am (or the night before if possible) if you will be staying an extra night. There is no formal check-out procedure. We ask prior to departure you ensure that your fire has been fully extinguished and all furniture (picnic table and deck chairs) is returned to their original location.


Cars & Quiet Hours

Quiet Hours: For the enjoyment of all guests, we ask for quiet after 10pm. We do not allow amplified music of any kind at any time of day - this includes small portable speakers. Please be mindful that our tents are made of canvas and sound does travel. If we receive multiple complaints about noise you will be asked to leave.

Vehicles: We allow for one vehicle parking space per site. Your designated parking will be close to your campsite. Additional vehicles can be parked at the entry to the campground with a maximum of one additional car per reservation. There is not an electric car charger at our facility.


Kids & Pets

Children: Parents are responsible at all times for their children’s safety and behavior. Please supervise small children in showers and restrooms. Please do not allow children to play in the roadway. Children are not allowed to be unsupervised at any time inside your tent. Please do not let children use the hammocks unattended. Please accompany your children on the loop trail.

Pets: We welcome well behaved pets over the age of 1 (no puppies) to the campground. The nightly pet fee is $35 per pet and no more than 2 pets per reservation. Guests with pets are asked to sign a liability waiver upon check-in. Unauthorized animals will result in the termination of your stay without refund. For all large gatherings guests are prohibited from bringing pets unless authorization has been granted by Mendocino Grove in advance. We have a number of amenities designed especially for your dog including:

  1. Dog Wash Station with hot water, shampoo and towels

  3. Dog Bed & bowl - in room upon arrival


    We count on you to prevent your pet from making excessive noise, being disruptive or aggressive to other guests. If your pet is deemed dangerous, harmful or disruptive, camp management has sole discretion to require you to find other accommodations. Mendocino Grove also reserves the right to contact animal control to have a pet removed.

    If your tent requires excessive cleaning, or if damages are incurred as a result of your pet’s actions, Mendocino Grove may charge for additional services and repairs. Animals must be kept on a leash at all times and may not be left unattended at your campsite or inside your tent. Animals may not be tethered to utility fixtures, picnic tables, trees or fences. Please be advised that Mendocino County has a leash law that requires dogs be kept on a leash at all times. Animals may not be allowed on any tent furnishings including bedding and blankets. Animal waste must be picked up by the pet owner. Dog waste bags and disposal are available at the main bathhouse.


Restrooms & Showers

We have two main full stocked bathroom facilities on property with outdoor showers and exterior toilet door entries (no shared hallways). Animals and the washing of dishes are prohibited in the restrooms. Sinks for washing dishes are available on either side of the bathroom facilities. A dog washing station is also available with shampoo and towels.


WiFi & Electricity

WiFi: While we’d like to help you disconnect from all devices during your visit, we understand that you may need a signal and provide designated wifi area where you can depend on finding a strong connection.

Electricity: Our tents have limited electricity for powering your bedside lamps and heated mattress pads. To reduce the risk of power outages, we ask that you do not use the electrical outlets for any unapproved devices. Please call ahead with questions.

CPAP machines are approved for use in all tents.

The bedside lamps have a USB port for charging compatible devices.


Camp Fires & BBQs

Camp Fires: Each site comes with a fire ring. Guests are permitted to light campfires in fire rings only.Fires are to be monitored at all times and extinguished completely before leaving the area or retiring for the night. A water spigot and buckets for this purpose are located in close proximity to all tents. In accordance with Cal State Forestry, in an effort to curtail the spread of black beetle disease, we ask that all firewood is obtained locally. As an amenity to our guests only, wood can be purchased at the campground.

Communal BBQ areas: There are communal BBQ throughout the campground with gas grills for your use. Our campground staff will work to keep these areas maintained, clean and ready for your use. However, we do ask that all campers clean the grill after use if need be. Please bring grilling utensils. A sink area with hot water is available for clean up. Grilling utensils are also available as part of a “Camp Box” that can be rented. We suggest that Camp Boxes are reserved in advance of your visit to ensure availability.


Other Stuff

Garbage: Help us stay clean by depositing all garbage and recycling in the designated waste receptacles throughout the campground. We strongly suggest throwing all food waste away in waste receptacles so you do not attract animals to your tent. Complimentary garbage bags are available upon request.

After-Hours Assistance/Security: In the event of an emergency or for after hours assistance, we have a call box located outside the office on the information board. This intercom will radio directly to the campground host who will be available to help. If this is a medical emergency, please call 911 and be prepared to give responder your tent number at Mendocino Grove.

Trees: Trees, and the shade they provide, are an integral part of an enjoyable Mendocino Grove experience. However, healthy and well-maintained trees pose a natural hazard of falling debris, such as leaves and branches, especially during windy and/or extreme weather conditions. We do not assume responsibility for these natural hazards or for any property damage, injury or other circumstances that may result. Please take this into consideration when parking at Mendocino Grove. If the management feels that a campsite is unsafe we reserve the right to change the location of your accommodation to insure your safety. In the event of extreme weather conditions forecasted, management reserves the right to cancel and reschedule the reservation to a mutually agreeable date.

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Property: Mendocino Grove management is not responsible for loss, damage or claims to property of guests due to fire, theft, accident or any other cause. For maximum security we ask guests to lock valuables in their car. Having in possession weapons such as firearms while outside a personal camping vehicle is not permitted on property. The management also reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
